Source of Madness Story

Source of Madness casts players as acolytes in an alternate realm ruled by heavenly creatures. These planets bend and deform each day, leaving the Loam Lands unpredictably terraformed and inhabited by bizarre celestial beings. Your journey will take you across nine biomes, from the depths of the Dungeon of Forgotten Knowledge to the eerie scenery of the Forest of Lies to the majestic non-euclidean citadel R’Lyeh, all the way up to the celestial bodies on the rims of the cosmos.

The Loam Lands, a twisted Lovecraftian-inspired environment powered by procedural generation and AI machine learning, is the setting for Source of Madness, a side-scrolling dark action rogue-lite. Assume the role of a new Acolyte as they begin on a terrifying quest. Discover the Loam Lands’ cosmic secrets and The Tower of Madness, the moon’s enigmatic Citadel. The scary monsters you fight are never the same, having been created using procedural generation and animated with a neural network AI.

Close-combat magic, labyrinthine terrain exploration, powerful loot management, and a talent tree brimming with abilities, classes, and spells. The fascinating realm of the Loam Lands, rendered in a gorgeous AI-assisted graphic style, unveils profound arcane lore as players learn its many secrets.

Source of Madness Gameplay & Combat

Source of Madness casts players as acolytes in an alternate realm ruled by heavenly creatures. These planets bend and deform each day, leaving the Loam Lands unpredictably terraformed and inhabited by bizarre divine beings. Your journey will take you across nine biomes, from the depths of the Dungeon of Forgotten Knowledge to the eerie scenery of the Forest of Lies to the majestic non-euclidean Citadel R’Lyeh, all the way up to celestial and bodies on the rims of the cosmos.

Each playing will include a random landscape and potentially billions of permutations of procedurally-generated beasts created by a neural network that concocts creatures from a seemingly infinite abyss. These physics-rigged monstrosities ascend and stretch in billions of different ways, thanks to a strong machine-learning AI that will go to any length to make your life a living hell! Use a wide range of spells to combat these abominations. Choose from five classes, develop your talents, and discover new magical abilities as you collect equipment and artifacts left behind by those before you. As you progress, add to your arsenal by infusing your foes’ blood into magical altars to unlock new spells. But beware: every time you die, the world is reborn, and all your equipment is destroyed.

Source of Madness Enemies & Skills

When you kill enemies, you gain currency that you cannot lose and use at the start of each run. Your initial choices are bad. The first Generalist class member you choose will have nothing but a magic missile spell and a slashing spell. With some grinding, you’ll be able to gain class enhancements and healing supplies. I have no objections to the game’s appearance or concepts.

However, the gameplay and controls aren’t what I’m looking for in this game. The Source of Madness appears to be in low gravity. It doesn’t feel like you have a lot of control over your character, and your only defense option is a dash with a strict cooldown. Larger foes have a habit of pinning your character against walls, leaving you with few options. It’s strangely impossible to tell when they’re attacking and not. My performance in each run likewise fluctuated greatly. Sometimes I lasted a long time, while other times, I died almost instantaneously due to escape damage complications. Healing remedies, on the other hand, do not restore much health.

Source of Madness Review: Choose the skills that best suit your playing style and become the cultist you want to be by upgrading the skill tree and discovering new ways to defeat your opponent. Express yourself with a diverse magic system that includes various classes. Combine yours unlocks classes’ skills and spells to build your playstyle. Your magical abilities are the only thing standing between you and the ruthless monsters of the shadow!

  • A diverse magic arsenal.
  • Controls are tight.
  • Various classes.
  • Class Altars: Infuse your enemies’ blood into magical altars to gain access to new spells.
  • Magical Spell Combat: Discover and master strong spells with various effects and attack patterns.

Discover millions of organic living monsters roaming the globe, climbing and stretching in billions of ways. The physics-based monsters from the unknown worlds are brought to life by powerful AI that will go to any length to make your life a living hell!

  • Monsters of the neural network.
  • Enemies were rigged using physics.
  • Procedural Monsters: Fight different monsters with each playthrough, brought to life by machine learning AI.
  • Climbable.
  • Adaptable.

Source of Madness Visuals & Graphics

Explore the depths of insanity in a world generated entirely by neural networks and inspired by Mr. H. P. Lovecraft. Source of Madness presents a complex and distinct world that never appears to be fully explored. Every time you play, the planet will be loaded with new options and undiscovered areas teeming with monsters and hazards. When you die and start afresh, the entire world and its inhabitants shifted. This world is cursed and will be destroyed shortly.

The visuals and the graphics are very average compared with the other action-horror-based video games. The Source of madness has this blue and red touch in all the scenes and segments. The game is quite exciting with monsters, dragons, and bosses, but the visual is not up to the mark. You can see the images pixelating while playing the game. The aesthetics in Source of Madness Early Access were very stunning. The way the Generalist’s clothes swung with each step was like being wet while watching the waves in Witcher 3. It’s from the water, stupid. The first impressions of carrying Castle and Thunderful Games were fantastic.
