Overwatch 2 Gameplay
Overwatch 2 Review: Overwatch 2 is a hero shooter in which players form two teams and choose a “hero” from a pool of over 30 characters as of 2022.
Characters are divided into three classes: “damage,” which is in charge of offensive efforts; “support,” which is in charge of healing and boosting; and “tank,” which is in charge of team defense. Each character has its own set of abilities comprised of active, passive, and ultimate abilities. Overwatch 2, like its predecessor, focuses on player-against-player (PvP) combat across a variety of modes and maps, with both casual and ranked competitive matches available.
The decision to eliminate a tank position on each side, limiting teams to five players, was a significant shift from the original game. According to game director Aaron Keller, developers anticipated that losing a tank would speed up gameplay since they thought the previous six-player structure made gameplay too sluggish.
It is also meant to reduce the number of things that players and spectators must keep an eye out for. To compensate for the loss of tank-based defense, new maps were created with greater cover choices.
Furthermore, Damage heroes now move faster, Support heroes replenish slowly, and Tank heroes have been reworked to take on a more aggressive role. Heroes have been aesthetically updated to represent the few years of in-game time that have elapsed since the events of the original game. Overwatch 2 will also incorporate a ping mechanism to divert the attention of other players.
Overwatch 2 New Heroes
With the release of Overwatch 2, our roster will grow to 35 characters, with the addition of Sojourn, Junker Queen, and Kiriko.
We’ve changed our hero design methodology to allow you to make an effect on your matches with a variety of different characters and strategies as we construct new heroes and adjust the existing cast for our new 5v5 PvP experience. This entails minimizing the availability of specialized hard counters to heroes.
This focus also implies that when a new hero is launched starting with Kiriko, we will hold off on releasing them in Competitive modes for a few weeks. This will allow us to swiftly adjust their balance if necessary, while also giving players the opportunity to experiment with them.

Overwatch 2 New Maps and Push Mode
Overwatch 2 will also contain a ping mechanism to call teammates’ attention to certain spots on the map and will also include a new push map based in Portugal, Esperança, as well as new maps for Overwatch 2—Circuit Royal, Colosseo, Midtown, New Queen Street, and Paraso.
Everyone has access to all maps, and a new map will be released every alternate season in the future. Everyone advances through the Battle Pass by simply playing the game and completing daily and weekly challenges that provide considerable XP.
You may also advance your Battle Passes more quickly by teaming together for a 20% XP increase on match XP. If you elect to purchase the Premium Battle Pass later in the season, all previously earned premium tiers will be unlocked.
Those who have completed the season’s Battle Pass can continue to advance via the Prestige tiers. Prestige prizes take longer to earn, but in Season One, they award a total of eight distinct hero titles that may be put on your name cards.
Overwatch 2 Challenges
Blizzard loves to provide players lore-focused Hero Challenges in between Overwatch’s official seasonal events. These Challenges are centered on a single hero, allowing players to earn prizes depending on the hero in question.

Overwatch 2 Graphics and Visuals
Overwatch 2 has a variety of settings and choices, including a 120fps mode that provides excellent performance for those seeking the greatest frame rate.
Overwatch 2 also supports VRR on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, which is fantastic for gamers with compatible monitors. These graphics modes are classified into three categories. A Resolution Mode is available, which prioritizes 4K resolution above frame rate.
