Welcome to the game review this is often more of an informational Post about all or any more details of the Gotham Knights review and what we all know so far.
Gotham Knights Story
Gotham Knights is an action role-playing game published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developed by WB Games Montréal.
The game is based on the Batman: Gotham Knights comic series, which is based on the DC Comics character Batman and his supporting cast. It focuses on the characters Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood as they attempt to restore justice to Gotham City during a period of decline following Batman’s death.
While investigating Batman’s disappearance, the heroes encounter the Court of Owls, a secret society as old as Gotham, and their legion of brainwashed assassins known as Talons.
Gotham Knights Gameplay
Gotham Knights Review: Gotham Knights is an upcoming open-world action game based in Gotham City. The four playable characters in the game are Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood.
Each character has a distinct playstyle and set of skills, such as Robin’s ability to teleport via the Justice League’s satellite. While the game may be played alone, it also has a two-person cooperative multiplayer mode in which the second player can drop in and out at any moment without impacting the first. Players can level up their characters, but adversaries will also level up automatically.
They can also tour the city by using vehicles such as the Batcycle. During the day, players will occupy the Belfry, which serves as the team’s headquarters and allows them to transfer characters and prepare for the next mission by managing progression, and the game will fast forward to the night.
Gotham Knights Skill Trees
The opportunity to play as four different characters with varied playstyles is a key aspect of Gotham Knights, allowing you to choose whatever feels right for you. Each character has four skill trees that allow you to specialize your main in various ways.
- The Knighthood Skill grants access to the skills in this tree as well as each character’s traversal method and an ultimate ability.
- Red Hood specializes in ranged combat, as evidenced by his Skill Trees.
- Vengeance Skill Tree concentrates on tree skills that do more damage to specific enemy types that he is particularly enraged with.
- Batgirl excels in single-target combat, as evidenced by her Skill Trees.
- The abilities in the justice skill tree are all about dealing with more powerful critical hits and raising Beatdown damage on single targets.
Gotham Knights Momentum Abilities
Gotham Knights Review: Momentum Abilities, like Skill Trees, are a set of unlockables that can transform your character’s playstyle and inflict greater damage. These second sets of skills are those that you attach to certain buttons in order to create a sequence of visually appealing assault combos.
- Red Hood’s Barrage Multiple shots are fired straight ahead, striking any adversaries in his route. Ammo can also be reloaded.
- Red Hood charges his fists with Elemental Effect damage in Mystical Punch. Melee attacks do 50% more damage and have a 5x increase in Elemental accumulation.
- Red Hood does a two-handed reload while hitting and firing an adversary.
- Harnessed Rage – When used, Red Hood’s next strike gains a percentage of the damage he takes. Red Hood is also healed at a rate of 1% each second.
- Red Hood jumps backward, releasing explosive magazines in Spoilsport Reload. Ammo can also be reloaded.
- Portable Turret – Red Hood deploys a tiny turret that deals great damage to adjacent foes.
- Red Hood charges forward, striking down any adversaries in his path.
Gotham Knights Encounters and Crime Scene Investigation
The first crime scene investigation in Gotham Knights sees the player searching for clues on how to access a concealed door hidden in a nearby wall.
In Doctor Kirk Langstrom’s office, bloody hand prints and pools of blood mar the floor and other surfaces, and a table appears to hold the key to the concealed door. Players are shown a keypad terminal alongside a microwave with its own set of numbered buttons.
Furthermore, several interactives on the table appear to hint at potential code combinations that would be entertaining to understand and try manually on either of the provided keypads, giving players more clues as to which keypad they should use.
The Encounters
The parcel was designed to look like a regal gift package, formally inviting its recipients to Gotham’s Masquerade Ball.
The parcel contained a Court of Owls mask, the invitation to the Ball, and newspaper pieces from the fictitious Gotham Gazette. Many villains will almost certainly be left for players to discover in-game, especially if they are vital to the plot of Gotham Knights, where it was discovered strewn around on the ground, charred along the edges, and caked in blood spatters.
Of course, Mister Freeze was on display for the majority of his boss fight. The mysterious and mischievous Court of Owls has been teased with a variety of adversary types in their ranks, ranging from groups of agile stalkers to enormous brutes wielding shields and maces.
Gotham Knights Multiplayer
The Gotham Knights team has stated that its approach to two-player co-op is fully untethered, which means that one player can conceivably explore another’s environment without ever meeting them.
Gotham Knights Suits and Harley Quinn
Gotham Knights Review: These are the stock suits that the Knights are frequently featured wearing in promotional material. Batgirl resembles her present Batgirl Of Burnside appearance, while Robin appears to be a mash-up of modern Tim Drake and Damian Wayne designs. Nightwing and Red Hood appear to be as traditional as possible, with some body armor and a more cloth-like helmet for Jason.
The whole set of these costumes has not yet been shown, but fans did get a sneak peek at their Titan skins during the Nightwing and Red Hood demo. Year One adopts a more traditional fabric suit design with basic belts, pouches, and accessories. Shinobi is ideal for lovers of the Bat-Manga, the Batman Ninja animated film, or those who want to transform the Gotham Knights into the warriors seen in Nioh games. The Knight Ops set has a considerably darker color scheme and a more grounded look.
The Neon Noir set strikes a good balance between fantastical and realistic designs. This set also provides all of the Knights with a more modern appearance in terms of hairstyles, dress patterns, and even weaponry. Tim Drake’s most famous comic, in which he became the Red Robin after Bruce Wayne’s death, inspired Robin’s Eternal outfit. The KnightWatch set is only for transforming other suits.
Harley Quinn
At Arkham Asylum, Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel worked as an intern psychiatrist. Harleen was charged with interviewing Batman’s arch-enemy, the Joker, one night, and after numerous conversations, she came to fall for him.
Harleen assisted Joker’s escape and became his sidekick, Harley Quinn, in the hopes of winning his love. Harley assisted Joker in several of his initiatives while also engaging in a domestic violent relationship with her ‘puddin’.
Gotham Knights Graphics and Visuals
The open-world Gotham of Gotham Knights now lacks the same richness and color. Whether grapple-boosting and soaring far above its buildings or speeding in the Batmobile and dodging around tight curves, Gotham City’s neon and rain-soaked streets are immersive with detail over its whole skyline from island to island. Fans are still ecstatic about Gotham Knights and are impressed by its aesthetics and co-op gameplay.
Gotham Knights Release date and Platforms
Gotham Knights will be available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on October 21, 2022.
