Nonetheless, this machine gets ridiculously hot for no reason – its Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti GPU performed poorly compared to other premium gaming laptops in its class. AMD has put a lot of effort into connecting its CPU and GPU businesses.
Therefore, you won’t be able to predict its speed, battery life, or behavior on different power settings on the AMD versions if Asus decides to release models with an Nvidia GPU, which typically does not have the same availability gaps as AMD versions. The AniMe Matrix LED array on the cover characterizes this model from prior generations, an attractive but gimmicky animation function that increases the overall weight from 3.6 to 3.8 pounds.
I tested a new 120Hz 1440p-class 500-nit panel with a complete P3 color gamut, albeit the default is a 1080p 450-nit 144Hz model. Other random design modifications comprise a more-than-routine refresh: The webcam now supports Windows Hello facial recognition sign-on, but it remains a disappointing 720p camera.
Asus also redesigned the speakers, which now have upward-firing tweeters and downward-firing woofers. ROG Zephyrus G15 (2022) comes with a 1TB SSD storage drive. The Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax connectivity, as are 4 USB ports, an HDMI port, a lock slot, and headphone and mic combo jack connections.

You’ll see the same Moonlight White design covered with soft-touch paint when you open the lid. What surprised me the most was seeing those lovely RGB-lit keys flash – simple white lights had previously backlighted the keyboard. Below the keyboard, there’s a giant touchpad, two thin speaker vents, and a pair of distinct media keys.

The Anker Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro noise-canceling earbuds are the company’s most recent noise-canceling model. These earbuds have active noise reduction and multipoint Bluetooth connectivity and compatibility with the LDAC audio codec. It is used to provide more effective data compression for Bluetooth audio, and it can improve the listening experience with higher-quality or lossless audio files.

The graphics are the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080, and ROG Zephyrus G15 (2022) is a great gaming laptop with a few minor flaws. Sure, it has a long battery life, a comfy keyboard, fantastic audio, and a lovely display, but it gets scorching and all for naught because its GPU isn’t up to the task.
