PlayStation Plus Review
Welcome to the game review this is often more of an informational Post about all or any more details of the PlayStation Plus review and what we all know so far.
PlayStation Plus Overview
PlayStation Plus (PS Plus) is a PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 membership service. It has numerous advantages. The first major draw is online multiplayer. Unless you have PS Plus, you cannot play your PlayStation games online with others.
The lone exception is free-to-play games such as Fortnite. The free monthly games are the second highlight. Every month, you can claim several games to add to your library; primarily PS4 titles, but occasionally PS5 titles (though they are all playable on the latter). We’ll go over the specific guidelines in more detail later. PS Plus members also get additional savings on the PS Store, even on top of already-discounted prices during sales, as well as access to demos, betas, and other exclusive content. Other benefits include exclusive game content (such as skins and weaponry), 100GB of cloud storage (to store your games), and Share Play. Game Help is a PlayStation 5 unique benefit.
In some games, pressing the PlayStation button will display personalized hints regarding the game you’re playing. Consider techniques, hidden passageways, and so on.
PlayStation Plus Membership
PlayStation Plus Essential/PS Plus
1. What exactly is it?
Though Sony may be renaming it, PS Plus Essential is essentially the same as PS Plus. It is now the service’s entry-level tier, with two different free titles to download each month that will remain yours as long as you continue to subscribe to PS Plus. It also includes unique discounts, cloud saves, and online multiplayer access to any game that supports it. Keep in mind that a PS Plus subscription is not required for free-to-play online games.
If you already have a PS Plus subscription, it will be converted to a PS Plus Essential subscription on June 23 (in the UK and Europe), unless you opt-out and nothing will change for you.
2. How much does it cost?
Your PS Plus Essential subscription can be paid either monthly, quarterly, or annually.
PS Plus Essential costs £6.99/$9.99 per month, £19.99/$24.99 every three months, or £49.99/$59.99 annually.
PlayStation Extra
1. What exactly is it?
The first all-new tier includes, as expected, everything from an Essential membership, as well as up to 400 downloadable PS4 and PS5 games, split evenly between first and third-party titles.
2. How much does it cost?
PS Plus Extra costs £10.99/$14.99 per month, £31.99/$39.99 quarterly, or £83.99/$99.99 annually.
PlayStation Plus Premium
1. What exactly is it?
In addition to all of the PS Plus Essential and Extra perks, you’ll receive up to 340 more games, which will include classic games from the PS1, PS2, and PSP console generations, as well as a few PS3 games.
At launch, PS3 titles are only available for streaming, but PS1, PS2, and PSP games can be downloaded or streamed. In places where PlayStation Now used to be available, the Premium tier also lets you stream PS4 games from the Essential and Extra tiers. These games can be played on PS4, PS5, and PC.
PlayStation Plus Review: Finally, the most expensive tier includes time-limited game trials for select games, with progress, carried over if the user decides to buy the game from the PlayStation shop at the end of the trial.
2. How much does it cost?
PS Plus Premium costs £13.49 ($17.99) per month, £39.99 ($49.99) every three months, or £99.99 ($119.99) per year.

Which Membership is better to buy?
Game Catalog
Only PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium subscribers have access to the game catalog. If you’re a premium member, you can download or stream up to 400 PS4 and PS5 titles. Unlike Xbox Game Pass, first-party PS4 and PS5 titles will not be available as standard at launch, but recent platform exclusives such as Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be. This library will change and grow over time. Sony’s website has a full list of the current A-Z library.
Classic Games Catalog
Classic Games Catalog games are only available to PS Plus Premium users. Except for PS3 titles, all of the featured games can be downloaded. Some of the games will be remastered, while others will be originals with better frame rates and resolutions. Rewind and save anywhere capabilities will be available in some PS1 and PSP games, although this will not always be the case. Again, this collection will change over time, but at launch, Ape Escape, Syphon Filter, Hot Shots Tennis (PS4 remake), and MotorStorm: Apocalypse (PS3 via streaming) are some of the best games.
PlayStation Plus Free Trial
Only PS Plus Premium members can access game trials. Select games can be downloaded and played for two hours or more for free before deciding whether or not to purchase the game in its entirety. With purchases, all trophies and save data are carried over.
The following are the launch games:
- Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection (PS5)
- Horizon Forbidden West (PS4/PS5)
- Cyberpunk 2077 (PS5)
- Farming Simulator 22 (PS4/PS5)
- Tiny Tina’s Wonderland (PS4/PS5)
- WWE 2K22 (PS4/PS5)
PlayStation Plus Pros and Cons
A PlayStation Plus subscription is well worth the price of entry. A 12-month subscription will give you access to at least 36 free PS5 and PS4 games for £49.99 in the UK and $59.99 in the US.
This more than covers the service’s fee, and you’ll also be able to participate in multiplayer matches in games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Overwatch.
Furthermore, saved data from the PS5 and PS4 will be immediately uploaded to your online storage space. This means you can move saves between PS4 consoles as long as your PSN account is active. When playing games at a friend’s house or upgrading from a base PS4 to a PS4 Pro or a PS4 to a PS5, this capability comes in useful. You will also have access to additional discounts on the PlayStation Store, allowing you to buy more titles at a lower cost.
While people who do not subscribe to PS Plus may receive a 35 percent discount on a PS4 title, those who do may receive a 70 percent discount on occasion. This is only an example; discounts can differ. PS Plus is worth it just for the three free PS5 and PS4 titles you’ll get to download. When you add every other benefit on top of that first benefit, it becomes a service that should be purchased with the PS5 and PS4.
PlayStation Plus allows you to play online with your friends, offers bigger discounts on PlayStation Store titles, and provides you with free access to a wide choice of games each month.
