Now, just a couple of days ago, Ubisoft made an official statement on the recent earnings call where this is exactly what they said. They even announced a teaser for the upcoming free-to-play, division game, and then the other possible game that could go free to play is, of course, the ghost recon franchise and especially since Ubisoft is making all of these games free to play.
They might have some very big plans for when it comes to microtransactions, because of course, they’re, giving away such big games for free and they need to make the money back for whatever they invested.
Ubisoft Free Games: They might end up creating a new assassin’s creed online game, which could be something like an open world GTA online style, but not exactly as good as GTA. Of course, because this is Ubisoft, so we might most likely be seeing an assassin’s creed online game coming up in the future and then of course when it comes to games like far cry the division and ghost recon.
These types of games are already built in a way where you can as easily just slide in that multiplayer mode and make it free to play and start selling a bunch of microtransaction items, and people are still going to be playing that game.
Buying microtransactions and, of course, Ubisoft, is going to make a lot of money, so this is basically how it would go for the open-world genre, but then there are also multiple other genres that Ubisoft currently owns, one of them being the sports genre. Ubisoft Free Games: We already know that Ubisoft is very familiar for their one of the biggest titles of rainbow six sieges and currently Ubisoft is also developing a zombie version of rainbow six, which is called rainbow six quarantine, which seems to be getting delayed a lot more than what I personally expected, but if we are lucky enough, maybe rainbow six quarantine could end up being that multiplayer game, and maybe they could even make this game a full-fledged free-to-play title.
